Your teacher is a proud West Side graduate, class of 1988. RDP! I went to Purdue University for my undergraduate work and did my graduate work at Western Kentucky University. I later finished my high ability endorsement recently through Purdue University. Go Boilers!
I have been married to my husband, Rick ,for 31 years now. We have two children. I love that my own children were a part of this great school system and its many great traditions. My daughter attended WLHS and finished her nursing degree while playing tennis in college for 4 years. She is now a registered nurse in labor and delivery in Hilliard, Ohio and will be married this May. My son is a WLHS graduate and is a sophomore in college. He too played collegiate tennis at the division II level before transfering to Purdue University to study business.
We love this community and we have called it our home since 2001.
I have taught 24 years and have come from a very extensive family of educators and administrators. Teaching was an encouraged avenue for me and one that I enjoy tremendously. I always knew I wanted to teach as far back as the elementary school. I love teaching and watching my students grow and mature over the school year.
You will learn quickly that I also have a passion for sports. I love to see my students play on their sports teams outside of school and pursue extracurricular activities. Sometimes I am invited and sometimes I just show up for their events! Bring me your sports schedule I would love to watch you play! I enjoy most sports actually, but by far my favorite is tennis. I love to play all summer long. I play in a U.S.T.A. league on a women's traveling team in the summer. The tennis court is definitely my happy place. :) Warning: I have been known to use tennis analogies in class to get my point across. :)
I look forward to getting to know you and your family. We have nine months to grow with each other, share experiences, and make new friends. It is going to be an amazing year! You will see. :)
